How long of a hike is Skinny Dip Falls?
Try this 1.0-mile out-and-back trail near Balsam Grove, North Carolina. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 30 min to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking, so you’ll likely encounter other people while exploring.
Can you camp at Skinny Dip Falls?
Follow this trail for a mile and you’ll arrive at Skinny Dip Falls! You can keep hiking up and around the falls or climb all over the rocks surrounding the swimming holes. It’s incredibly easy to get to! If you want to camp in this area there are multiple unofficial campsites you can make camp at.

Waterrock Knob is a must-stop along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Located at Milepost 451.2 (just 18 miles from the end of the Parkway), it features the last hiking trail along the Parkway as you travel toward the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

The falls are a free activity, pack your swimsuit and towel in case you want to swim! The Natural water slide is just 1/4 mile up the road and there is a small entry fee to enter to view or slide if the water isn’t too deep or flowing too much.
