Having an interest in military maters and knowing the history of the battle, it was very interesting for me to see that actual place where the charge took place. Shame the little tower erected at the top of the hill has been built on.

This is an incredibly historical place of American history, in a far off corner of Cuba, rarely visited. Hopefully that will change soon. There is no one on duty, no real signage, other than what’s written on the monuments. Because it’s so rarely visited, it felt good to pay respects to people that gave their lives for our country, so long ago.
