How much does a MoleMap cost?
A Full Body MoleMap costs $399 – this is our most comprehensive service (includes skin-mapping over time) and is recommended for first-time patients and anyone considered medium to high risk. For returning patients, a Full Body Follow-up starts from $299 (this may vary depending on the unique nature of your skin).
Is mole mapping a good idea?
Mole mapping offers a great safeguard against skin cancer by catching suspicious moles before they evolve into melanoma. During your mole mapping appointment, you will be seen by a highly qualified consultant dermatologist who is an expert in skin cancer.
When should you do mole mapping?
Full body mole mapping is suitable for everyone, but is recommended for anyone who has a moderate to high risk of melanoma. This includes anyone who has fair skin and/or a lot of moles (50 moles or more), has a personal or family history of melanoma, is over 50 years old, or who has spent a lot of time in the sun.
Can my GP do a mole check?
If the GP thinks it’s melanoma If the GP thinks your mole is melanoma, you’ll be referred to a specialist in hospital. You should get an appointment within 2 weeks. The main treatment for melanoma is surgery to remove the mole.
How do you prepare for mole mapping?
Preparing for Mole Mapping When preparing for your full body mole mapping, we ask that you do not wear any fake tan, makeup or nail polish. You should also wear plain-coloured underwear to the mole mapping session.
What should you do before a MoleMap?
Dry skin can make spots harder to examine. If you do have very dry or flaky skin, we recommend that you moisturise daily – preferably for a week or so before your skin check. If you are having mole mapping (i.e. total body photography), you should wear plain coloured underwear without a pattern.
Can a pharmacist look at a mole?
The ScreenCancer process If you have concerns regarding a mole or lesion on your body, you should have this checked. You should either see your GP, or you can simply visit a local pharmacy delivering the mole scanning service in partnership with ScreenCancer.
Do you have to be naked for a mole map?
Full Body MoleMap for new patients At your first appointment, a baseline photographic record of your skin is created, wearing only your underwear. After that, they individually map each mole or lesion of concern, using a special camera.
What do you wear to mole mapping?
If they would prefer, patients are advised to wear loose, comfortable clothing that the doctor can easily work around. You do not need to fully undress for your mole check appointment, wearing something similar to what you might wear to the beach or gym ie. shorts and a t-shirt is often ideal.

Lab testing showed that more than 90 percent of biopsied moles were completely removed by using the single procedure, with 11 (7 percent) diagnosed as melanoma, one of the most aggressive forms of skin cancer.
