Do you need new bindings when you get new boots?
Older boots were bigger and heavier while new boots are smaller and lighter. Your bindings will need to be able to accommodate the change in size.

With most modern flat decked skis its generally possible to change the binding system by removing the old binding and mounting (drilling and screwing) a new binding system onto the ski deck.
Can you adjust ski bindings for different size boots?
Typically you can adjust ski bindings one size larger or one size smaller without have to re-drill holes. If you’re moving two sizes or more then you’ll likely need to remound the bindings and move them backward or forward so you’re standing the optimum position for your size.
Can I use my old ski bindings?
Ski bindings can be reused and mounted on both new and pre used skis. If you take care of your ski bindings, they will have a very log lifespan. You should replace your bindings if they are not functioning properly, if they have been damaged you should take them to a shop to determine if they should be replaced.
Is it bad to remount ski bindings?
Most professionals would recommend not remounting a ski more than 3 times. You can remount your skis several times, but each new mounting point should sit far enough away so that the drilled holes are at least 8mm away from the previous holes.
Can I use old ski bindings?
A binding can still be OK for many, many years. Manufacturers just don’t want to be responsible for risk anymore, and they also want us to buy new and better bindings. You can install new binding on your old skis (if you love them unconditionally); a technician will plug the old holes.
