What do Hope House Hospice do?
What do you do? In a nutshell, Hope House Children’s Hospices provide specialist nursing care and support to more than 750 children and their families who live in Shropshire, Cheshire, North and Mid Wales. We provide respite care in our two hospices and in the families’ own homes.
When did Hope House open?
October 1995
Building started in 1993 and when we first opened our doors to children in October 1995 Hope House was only the tenth children’s hospice in the entire world. In our first full year after opening we supported 80 families. Now we support more than 750 families.

Hope House Children’s Hospices is a centre of excellence for children’s palliative care ensuring every family facing the death of a child gets the very best care and support when and where they need it.
Who founded Hope House?
The founders of Hope House Ireland are Dawn and Roy McConnell who have been married for 33 years.

What does Ty Gobaith do?
Ty Gobaith opened its doors in 2004 and provides care and support to terminally ill children and their families living in the North and Mid Wales area. It also offers support to anyone suffering the death of a child, in any circumstances.

Our North Wales hospice Tŷ Gobaith is just outside Conwy with stunning views across the estuary. It offers peace and tranquillity to the children and families who visit and is sensitive to the needs of the local population, many of whom speak Welsh as a first language.
