Rod & Staff is clear, simple math explained well. My children finished one-and-a-half to two books per calendar year in grades 1-4, and continue to do well. After finishing the 5th year curriculum, one child took the Saxon math placement test, and placed in the Saxon 87 book.

How do you use Lifepac curriculum?
A single LIFEPAC is designed to be about 3-4 weeks of study. Again, this is an average. A student should average 3 pages a day per subject to complete all 10 units in each subject in 180 days. This means that at times a student may complete 5 or even 6 pages when it’s mostly reading.
Is Cle spiral or mastery?
R&S is mastery based and CLE is spiral. Ds is a very active child. I do not want to use MUS anymore though and I have spent a lot of time researching Horizons, Right Start, Saxon, ACE, etc. which I just dont think are for our family.
Is Lifepac curriculum accredited?

What is the difference between horizons and Lifepac?
Horizons is spiral learning, and LIFEPAC is mastery-based. Spiral learning generally goes at a faster pace, so if you have a child who grasps concepts easily and becomes bored easily, Horizons is a better fit.
