What is a standard roll roller blind?
Regular Roll Roller Shades Feature the Hardware Regular (Standard) Roll Roller Shade — Rosette. Roller Shades with a regular roll let the material sit closest to the window, with the roll exposed and the material falling off the back. This arrangement puts the roll and the brackets on display when the shade is drawn.
How do you measure a roller blind?
If you want to fit roller blinds within your recess, measure the area like this:
- Measure the width of the window, starting at the top. Use the edges of the window recess as your guide.
- Now measure across the middle and bottom of the window.
- Take three measurements over the height of your window, too.
What is the longest drop on a roller blind?
Most large roller blind systems such as the ShadeTech RBXL range allow a maximum roll-up diameter of 110mm, this allows for an approximate drop of 6m based on using a screen fabric with a thickness of 0.6mm.
Should roller blinds face in or out?
An over rolled blind on the face will leave a gap between the blind and the architrave, allowing a large amount of light to come in from the sides. An under rolled blind on the face however will roll as close to flush against the architrave/wall, minimising light and increasing privacy.
How much space is needed for a roller blind?
When fitting a Roller Blind outside a window recess, we recommend that the blind extends at least 7–10 cm to each side of the window recess and approximately 7 to 10cm (where possible) above and below, to ensure that the blind gives adequate coverage of the window when closed.
Can you cut roller blind to size?
Cutting Roller Blinds to Size Roller blinds are simple and easy to cut to size yourself. You simply need to take the measurements of your windows, compare them against your blinds and cut off the excess material.
Should roller blinds touch the floor?
We generally advise not allowing your roller blinds to roll down to the point that they come into contact with the ground, for reasons that I’ll get into in more detail later on.
What length should blinds be?
Measure both the width of the window and the height of the window. Consider adding an extra 3 inches to the width and height for optimum light control and privacy. Extending the blinds outside the window will also provide the space needed for the mounts and help the window appear larger than it actually is.
