We are a no-tipping establishment. The fee is revenue that is not segmented or designated in any way; it is taxed per state law and is used to fund all of our operations.
Does SUGARFISH have omakase?
We want dining at SUGARFISH to be easy and friendly for all of our guests. You could simply follow Chef Nozawa’s mantra: “Don’t Think. Just Eat.” Our food and unique omakase-style service are based on Chef Nozawa’s 50 years of experience and early training with master chefs in Tokyo.
Are SUGARFISH and Kazunori the same?
SUGARFISH is one of many restaurants operated by Sushi Nozawa Group, which also includes KazuNori: The Original Hand Roll Bar and Nozawa Bar. SUGARFISH is a full-service restaurant obsessively focused on the quality of the sushi. Nozawa Bar is a fine-dining, omakase-only sushi bar for the adventurous sushi eater.

Where did you get the name SUGARFISH? Nozawa is known for “melt in the mouth” sushi that’s a “wow” experience for most people. Imagine a child eating his first sugar cube. We wanted a name that would evoke that simple, pure, “wow” sensation.
Are you full after Omakase?
It also helps to know how hungry you should be prior to your omakase, since they vary dramatically in the number of items that will be served. 8-10 pieces is a very light meal and you should not expect to be very full. 20 pieces is a fairly large meal and you should feel very full even walking in really hungry.
