How long does it take to get a motorcycle license in BC?
For new drivers, you hold your learner’s for 30 days and then pass the motorcycle skills test. Then, hold the learners for an additional 12 months and you can take the Class 8 road test. After the Class 8 road test is passed, you hold onto your Novice for 24 months and then take the final Class 6 motorcycle road test.
How hard is it to get a motorcycle license in BC?
Based on feedback from our students, the test is not too difficult. An appointment is necessary to take your motorcycle knowledge test. The cost is $15 for each attempt. Once you have completed your knowledge test and have your learners’ motorcycle license (yellow paper) you are good to go to start riding motorcycles.

This depends on your current riding standards, and the speed at which you learn. Can I use my own bike for test preparation? Yes, we would encourage you to use the bike you would be taking your test on, but there is no problem hiring a machine for both the test preparation and for taking the test itself.
