Why is Yorkshire Museum closed?
We’re closing so we can bloom next Spring! With the ‘Richard III Coming Home’ exhibition ending on October 31, we have decided to close the museum over winter. It has been a tough 18 months and like many organisations, York Museums Trust are still recovering from the significant impact of the pandemic.

There’s also a great 1960s experience which is another mini street scene and from therer you can take a trip into the old prison cells too. York Castle Museum opens daily from 9.30am until 5pm.
