King Hlaalu Helseth, a Dark Elf, can be found in the Royal Palace. He has recently become the king of Morrowind, after the death of King Llethan.
What happened to King Helseth?
Fate. It is never stated whether or not King Helseth survived the Red Year or the Argonian invasion of southern Morrowind. However, due to House Hlaalu being kicked from the Grand Council, it could mean he lost some power.

Later, Almalexia sent the Nerevarine to Clockwork City to kill Sotha Sil. However, Sotha Sil was already found dead, and Almalexia traveled to them revealing her true plan to have the Nerevarine killed by Clockwork City’s defenses on their way to Sil, and that she killed Sotha Sil out of her insanity.

They appeared like other elves, but their skin was a darker shade of pale gold than the Altmer. Almalexia of the Tribunal apparently maintained her appearance as a Chimer (as did Vivec, partially) despite the Curse which changed the Chimer into the Dunmer.
Why did Almalexia betray Nerevar?
According to this theory, she did this out of desperation. Like I said earlier, she had pretty good, high class life as Nerevar’s wife but with Nerevar gone, she might have felt danger to her position and status, danger of being sidelined by other house leaders and council members, danger of being replaced.
