What is the difference between a composition notebook and a regular notebook?
As you might already know, a composition notebook, sometimes called a composition book, is a empty notebook designed for use by students. It has lined pages and a stitched binding. The pages are note perforated and the notebook has no special features like pockets or included stickers.
Why do composition notebooks have marbled covers?
In a way, marbling became a way to “brand” this type of blank paper. It’s not likely their popularity will ever abate. Because many composition books have stitched binding, they can be studier than your average notebook and may result in fewer lost or torn pages.

First, fold the page along the perforated line to the left. Then, turn the page and back-fold it along the same line to the right. Finish by pulling the page diagonally with your left hand while starting the “pull” from the top or bottom at the perforated line.
