There are two main ice-skating rinks in Central Park, each with skate & locker rentals available – Wollman Rink and Lasker Rink (closed for renovations until 2024). A third (free) option is also available at Conservatory Water when proper ice conditions permit.

How long do you skate at Wollman Rink?
The time slot was 3 hours long (though there as 30 minutes when you couldn’t skate because they were cleaning the ice). My son (17 years old) and my partner really enjoyed the experience. The rink is in a great setting and easy to get to. Well worth doing.

Why did Wollman Rink close?
Wollman Rink opened in 1950, having been proposed four years earlier. The rink was closed for renovations in late 1980 and reopened in November 1986. Following the renovation, The Trump Organization operated the rink under contract with the New York City government until 1995 and again from 2001 until 2021.
