What has the British Lung Foundation done?
We funded a 3-year epidemiological research project into the respiratory health of the nation, which was reported in 2016. This evidence base is needed for policymakers, researchers, health care providers and professionals to make sure the UK’s lung health is given the priority it deserves.
Who was involved in British Lung Foundation?
In 1985, Professor Sir Malcolm Green and his colleagues founded the BLF because research into lungs was underfunded and underappreciated, and lung diseases were poorly understood.
What does the BLF do?
We aim to prevent lung disease by campaigning for positive change in the UK’s lung health. We’re raising awareness about lung disease, the dangers that cause it, and how to look after your lungs.
How did the British Lung Foundation change peoples views?
People who responded to our surveys said the events helped them to take better care of their lungs and become more informed about lung disease. We also trained health care professionals about COPD, to improve how they treat people with the condition.
When is breathe Easy Week?
June 21 – June 26 Formerly Breathe Easy Week, Love Your Lungs Week 2021 is an initiative started by the British Lung Foundation, to raise awareness and focus on lung health and will take place between the 21st and 27th June this year.
