Below, we have listed 58 merit badges that Scouts can complete from home. The merit badges on the list meet two main criteria: They don’t involve visits to public places or companies. Their requirements can be completed indoors or in an average-size yard.
How much do merit badge books cost?

Each digital pamphlet costs $4.99, the same price as hard-copy pamphlets. They’re compatible with any electronic device; they do not include interactive or enhanced content. You can also find digital handbooks and other leader resources in the BSA’s Amazon Kindle library.
How many merit badges are there in the Boy Scouts?

How do I get my Scout merit badge?
Scout Buddy System. You must have another person with you at each meeting with the merit badge counselor. This person can be your parent or legal guardian, or another registered adult. Call the Merit Badge Counselor. Get a signed Application for Merit Badge, No. 34124 or No. 34130, from your unit leader.
How are merit badge requirements revised?
Merit badge requirements are revised as needed to reflect updated information and technology. Refer to the latest Scouts BSA Requirements book for merit badge requirement updates. The current Scouts BSA Requirements book is available from your local Scouting merchandise distributor.
What happens if a scout does not complete a badge (s)?
If a scout does not complete all requirements for the badge (s) they are signed up for at MBU, they will receive a partial. If they are unable to complete a Merit Badge, they will have to seek out their own counselor to complete the Merit Badge unless otherwise said.
