Selection criteria
- Must successfully complete prerequisite courses Incident Command System (ICS)-100 and ICS-200 or equivalent prior to being accepted for this course.
- Have a working knowledge of the ICS.
- Have an agency or individual need to meet National Incident Management System required training.
What is ICS 300 class?
Course Overview. ICS-300 provides an in-depth focus on the NIMS Incident Command System (ICS) that includes the tools, practices, and procedures that are available in ICS to effectively manage emergency incidents or planned local events at a local Type 3 level.
Is 00200 a C?
IS200, Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response, reviews the Incident Command System (ICS), provides the context for ICS within initial response, and supports higher level ICS training. This course provides training on, and resources for, personnel who are likely to assume a supervisory position within ICS.
How are incident commanders selected?
The Incident Commander is selected by qualifications and experience. The Incident Commander may have a Deputy, who may be from the same agency, or from an assisting agency. The Incident Commander may have one or more Deputies. An individual assuming a Deputy role must be equally capable of assuming the primary role.
Do FEMA certifications expire?
Answer: Independent Study Program course certificates never expire. If you want to refresh your skills, you may retake the exam; however, our system will not re-score the exam and the original date of completion will remain on your certificate of completion.
