Can you miss your LH surge and still ovulate?
Now that’s what we call digital! Many OPKs only take your Luteinizing Hormone (LH) into account. This can lead to you missing essential fertile days though. Because even though your Luteinizing Hormone spikes around 24h before ovulation, you’re fertile for more days even before that surge.
What happens if my LH doesn’t surge?
If you have not ovulated during your testing days, you will not have detected the LH surge. It is probable that ovulation has not occurred. At times, women may experience an anovulatory cycle during which an egg is not released. Unfortunately, the best thing to do is to continue testing.
How long before LH surge does cervical mucus change?
In most cases, your discharge will become egg white in appearance about 2 to 3 days before ovulation. You might be able to detect ovulation by simply observing the consistency of your cervical mucus. If you can’t tell by looking at it, you can touch the discharge to test its consistency.

Yes, it is possible to ovulate without ever seeing a positive OPK (or peak reading on your fertility monitor). OPKs are designed to detect the surge of luteinizing hormone in your urine. This is the last hormone to peak before ovulation and the hormone that is responsible for triggering the rupture of the ovarian sac.
